Skullcandy was founded in 2003 and is a unique entrepreneurial business building global
high-quality audio markets products for lovers of activity sports like snowboarding and
skateboarding. The implementation of the SAP Business ByDesign helped the organization in
solving specific process problems which hindered its growth and strategic planning (Laudon &
Laudon, 2019). First, the system sorted the issues which arose due to the expansion of the
company in terms of products, services, and geographical regions. Secondly, the system also
solved the complexities created by compliance and control as a result of company growth in
terms of finance through private or public investments. Thirdly, the new system helped the
management solve the persistent problem of data inconsistencies and dormancy present in the
current fragmented organization.
The implementation of the new system changed the business processes for the company
significantly. After application, the company began to transition and achieved more efficiency in
operations for its new business model. These processes included forecasting, planning, financial
analysis, and the research and development of additional products in its original portfolio. The
system also allowed the business to promote its growth strategy planning founded on additional
acquisition approaches (Laudon & Laudon, 2019). It is also imperative to note that the
implementation of SAP Business ByDesign allowed the company to grow in the global market.
The process of using cloud-based software was highly beneficial for the company,
according to the case. Cloud hosting allowed the business to maintain the same software and
company procedures without having to cope with the underlying semantics. Readily accessible
