b. In Eating Plan J? saturated fats in plan J are the french fries and the quarter pounder with
cheese.
2. a. Which of these diets has a higher percentage of calories coming from saturated fat? Plan J with
the double quarter pounder and cheese and fries
b. From essential fatty acids? Plan H from the lobster and scallops
3. Suggest ways to reduce the solid fats in Eating Plan J. The meats could be replaced with more
lean options such as chicken. The fries could be substituted with another vegetable.
4. What food safety concerns might you have about Eating Plan H? Mercury from seafoods, which
could build up to harm the body over time.
5. a. What are the sources of added fats in Eating Plan H? Cheese from the biscuits, melted butter
b. Suggest healthier alternatives to these added fats. Olive oil in place of the butter, vegan cheese
for the biscuits.
