433 WEEK 1 RESEARCH PAPER 2
Problem Summary
There is a common emergence of infectious diseases in both care services and in the
education context. These common outbreaks of infectious diseases are as a result of many
students interacting together near one another. Therefore, education and services offered in
relevance to care should be given in order to restrict the sharing of infectious sicknesses. This
can be done through isolating sick students the moment they are infectious, ensuring safety
precautions are practiced, and finally teaching and creating awareness to the community around
the school. This research problem, therefore, mainly focused on the control of infection among
school students.
Infection control refers to the scientific technique and actual solutions created in
relevance to the prevention of risks brought by infection to both workers of health and patients. It
is rooted in infectious illnesses, health organization strengthening, social science, and
epidemiology (Contzen & Mosler, 2015). Infection prevention and control (IPC) covers a special
position within the patient safety field, quality global medical care coverage due to its relevance
to workers of health and patients during every individual medical care encounter.
There is no state, no medical facility, and even the organizations of health found in the
most advanced medical systems can say that matters to do with infectious diseases don’t affect
them. Therefore, there is an arising demand for IPC projects internationally and also at the
institutional level, which is being reinforced by the world health organization.
The WHO has designed IPC programs through the Department of Service Delivery and
Safety (SDS) in order to offer an integrated and comprehensive IPC role that aims at
strengthening IPC capacity both at the state and international levels and also executing protective
practices at the care levels.
