Introduction
To help sally change her behavior, I would employ a program that can leads to successful
long-term weight loss. A successful program should not only focus on weight loss but also focus
on behavioral changes by improving physical activities and eating habits. To achieve this, I
would implement behavior change strategies to help maintain healthy behaviors and motivate her
to initiate conveniently to her lifestyle approaches (Hallsworth & Trenell, 2016). Self-
management and self-efficacy strategies are some of the behavior change strategies demonstrated
here to help maintain healthy habits and incorporate into a weight loss program.
To maintain healthy weight and lose weight, Sally must make a commitment to lose
weight and be motivated to maintain being physically active and eat balanced diet meals. Also,
she must comprehend what to expect during three distinction stages in behavioral changes that is,
initial behavioral change, improvement behavioral changes and behavioral maintenance
condition stages (Hallsworth & Trenell, 2016). I would give her an exercise prescription and
information on healthy diet. I would also help her develop their own plans which helps to make
them adhere to them in the long run and facilitate incorporation of their health recommendations
into her daily life.
My Approach Strategies.
I will use self-efficacy strategy to help sally lose her weight.
Self-Efficacy strategies.
This is an individual’s ability or personal judgement to succeed in achieving specific
outcomes or goal. Self-efficacy is one of the determinants used to show whether behavioral
change takes place (initial condition), this is due to the fact that unless she believed that she can
produce anticipated effects by her actions, she would have little inducement to act for behavioral
