Sexual harassment in workplaces involves bullying of partners, either sexually of through
physical coercion in areas of employment. The behavior has been rampant in firms in the past
calling for a close intervention to address the problem. Google Company is one of the companies
that have recently hit the news headlines as their employees in New York City walked out on 1

November 2018 to stage a protest on how the tech company handles sexual harassment
allegations. The walkout was prompted by an article on the previous month in the New York
Times, which revealed that the management was biased by giving Andy Rubin a payout while
retiring, regardless of harassments that he showed to women (Conte, 2010). But it is not just
Andy Rubin saga; controversies about alleged sexual misconduct at Google are far too many. A
number of high-profile executives have left Google over the last few years after allegations of
sexual misconduct.
Another case of sexual harassment in the tech company involved Lorette Lee, which
came into the public light march this year. Lee who worked with Google as a software engineer
between 2008 and 2016 was fired from the company for poor performance. She filed a lawsuit
accusing the company of sexual harassment, gender discrimination, and wrongful termination.
Lee, in her lawsuit, said that she was subjected to lewd comments and physical violence by her
male co-workers who spiked her drinks, slapped her when she was intoxicated and even asked
her for a “horizontal hug”. When she finally filed her complaints, her co-workers retaliated by
not approving her codes, which led to a poor performance review. Therefore, it raised concerns
on the efforts placed to address the issue, which have been rampant among the workers.
In 2015, Kelly Elvis, another former Google employee, who worked with the tech giant
company between 2010 and 2014 broke her silence by accusing an engineering, Rod Chavez and
