Over the years, American politics has metamorphosed and there are significant changes
that can be experienced in the political field. The recent activities that have been conducted by
presidents in the united states can be assumed to have been done out of the nature of powers that
the office has. The president and the executive powers play a vital role in major policy and
decision making in the country. It is through such powers that the president is able to carry out
various actions effectively. There are some arguments, which are in support of the powers and
they support because of the nature of politics that is experienced in the country. If the president
does not have such powers, it may be difficult to govern the country due to different political
interests that different politicians have in mind. This essay will analyse the question, has the
president become too powerful? Arguments will be raised through the analysis of different
events and activities that have been happening in the last few years.
The president has been given constitutional powers which revolve around different issues
which are critical to effective running of affairs in the country. For instance, the president is the
commander in chief of the armed forces. He has the powers to nominate public officials and the
executives. He can nominate the supreme court judges. The president can grant pardons and he
can sign treaties with other nations with the support of two thirds of the senate. These are
constitutional powers that the president has and they have been overstepped by almost all the
modern-day presidents of the US.

Donald Trump has been seen to have different arguments in
public where there are some people who oppose his arguments due to the nature of effects they
have in the society. On several occasions he has been heard giving racist statements in his
speeches yet nobody is taking action against such utterances. The powers that presidents have
