Running Head: Jeremy Smith 2
Based on Jeremy Smith's lab results, my main concern is that Jeremy may develop
diabetes, stroke, coronary artery, cirrhosis, kidney disease, hypothyroidism, or even heart failure.
Since Jeremy BMI is 30.1, it indicates that he is obese, putting him at risk of other chronic
diseases. Looking at his family history, his father passed away due to a heart attack, and his mom
has diabetes. His brother also has high blood pressure and hypercholesterolemia, putting Jeremy
at a higher risk of potentially developing one of does disease.
Looking at Jeremy's 24-hour diet recall indicates that he hasn't followed a reduce sodium
intake as his physician recommended. If he continues to eat like that, he may face many
challenges concerning his health. My recommendation to Jeremy is to choose healthy foods
instead of eating fast foods. Cooking at home may help his situation by preparing his meals with
no saturated fats. Replacing chocolate chip cookies with vegetables and fruits may help him lose
weight and control his high blood pressure. Eating less and more frequently would be an
excellent way to get back on track.
Based on the client's selection, he likes fried eggs or scrambled he likes his ribeye steak
and fried shrimp and a double cheeseburger. A definite recommendation to his choice of food is
to reduce his meat intake to 3 oz instead of 8 oz of meat as well as staying away from
cheeseburger and other fast foods. A healthier way to eat healthier breakfast is to add vegetables
to his omelet or use egg whites instead. Also, it is best to change to spray oil when frying eggs.
