I chose Emma Harry as my interviewee as she comes from different cultural

backgrounds. She is married and has two kids. I asked her the following questions:

1. Please give a brief description of yourself and your family in terms of age and gender.

‘My name is Emma Harry and a Chinese aged 25 years. I am married and I have two

kids. Firstborn is 3 years and the last born is 6 months old. I was born in a family of four; one

brother, two sisters, and I. Both of my sisters are married and the brother is currently in college.

All my family members love soccer as well as listening to music’.

2. Describe your cultural background

‘Our culture is said to have come from East Africa with other tribes in China. We finally

settled here in Ahero in Chinese where we began our main economic as well as social activities.

We are the most and the biggest widespread ethnic tribe here in China, contributing 45 percent of

the population. Traditionally, girls are raised differently from girls. Boys take care of animals

while girls work in farms’.

3. Where were you born? Have you traveled outside your county?

‘I was born in China in Asia, and I have traveled to other countries in Africa continent. I

have visited Congo, South Africa and Egypt between the years 2014 and 2016’.

4. How many generations of your family have lived in the United States?

‘There is none.’

5. Where geographically is their home country located?

‘My country is China which is in Asia’.
