Global Governance is simply another form of imperialism
Introduction
Global governance is a movement towards political cooperation among transnational
actors, aimed at negotiating responses to problems that affect more than one state or region. It’s
an international process of consensus forming, which brings about guidelines and agreements
that affect national governments and international corporations. Some of the institutions
involved in global governance are international organizations such as the United Nations, world
health organization, international criminal court, and the World Bank. They are initiated to
address problems and offer solutions to global issues and to improve the welfare of their
members. Initially, global governance institutions were significant establishments. Still, in the
recent past, there has been the emergence of private-public partnerships and also entirely private
governance arrangements, which include nongovernmental institutions, philanthropic
foundations, social movements, and party associations.
Transnational actors play a significant role in democratizing global governance by
expanding participation and strengthening accountability. With nongovernmental organizations,
advocacy networks, and social movements entering the scene, there’s an expansion of the
involvement in that it broadens the scope of actors involved in international policymaking and
provision of public goods and also there’s the tendency of more direct citizen participation. On
the same note, the transnational actors have suffered the judgment of not living up to the theme
of inclusive involvement and explicit mechanisms of accountability. However, the entry of
nongovernmental organizations the social movements has enhanced accountability in global
governance by supplementing existing mechanisms of internal accountability within
