PART 1: RUNNING RECORD FOR ONE CHILD
QUICK NOTES: Xavier is outside in the pool area. He is using a shovel in his right hand to mix water from the pool and dirt to
make a cake for his birthday. He tends to get upset at how heavy his bucket is with the water and dirt as he is unable to carry it and
show his parents what he has made. He then proceeds to play with objects around the pull such as a beach ball and toy trains which
seems to make him happy as he gets to run around and catch the ball before it goes into the grass where it believes it will pop if it
does.

WRITE-UP: Xavier is in good physical shape. While it seems he wanted to make a birthday cake he has a preference for playing
catch with the beach ball. Xavier demonstrates a bit of confident gross and motor skills throughout his physical movements. He also
has established labeling words that he is able to use to communicate with me as his mom to show me how he was able to mix dirt and
water to make a birthday cake as he mvoes from experience to experience.
PART 2: RUNNING RECORD FOR ONE DEVELOPMENTAL INSTANCE
QUICK NOTES: The focus is on the cognitive domain.
Watching Xavier play with his brother Camyron on the backyard playground I can see him being polite and using his words to take
turns on the swing. He will swing for a few minutes then he will tell his brother Camyron “Your turn” and while he waits for his turn
again returns to playing catch with the beach ball
WRITE-UP: I paid close attention to the creativity, memorability and learning capability of the children. Assessment of this domain
is critical in gauging whether the children will excel in academics or not. I was satisfied with the preparation of the children. They
had a sharp memory that could recall learnt concepts in school. Xavier and Camyron were able to apply the social skills of taking
turns and use clear language to express their thinking. Xavier demonstrates the skill of decision making about her choice of
experiences.
Part 3: Personal reflection
