Introduction
Health issues are often not only intricate but also pertinent hence the need for a
comprehensive clinical assessment as an initial approach towards making a proper diagnosis and
prescribing the most effective treatment for the presenting conditions. Clinical evaluation is the
process through which a specialist determines how and why one behaves abnormal and how that
individual can be helped. Its focus is idiographic, and it is also applicable in the evaluation of
treatment progress. This paper focuses on the assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity
Disorder (ADHD) client referred to a specialist by a family doctor after two months of
observation.
Referral Statement
The client was referred to the clinic by a family physician after observing some abnormal
behavior from the client. Following the information that was given by their family doctor, the
client has started showing these abnormal behaviors a few months after meeting his uncle who
lives in Iraq whom he saw many years back in Iraq. After observing him for two months, the
doctor decided to send him for a special checkup. According to the physician, he presumes that
John has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) hence request for diagnosis of this
abnormality and its treatment.
Identifying information
John a refugee, Chaldean Community Foundation, Michigan was born on July 14, 1989,
in Iraq, Baghdad. The Arabic 29-year-old man lives with his mom and dad in the USA, and he is
a U.S citizen. Even though he is an Arabic, John is a Catholic and still single. He has a degree in
Information Technology. John is an IT expert in one of the companies in Michigan hence earns
enough salary to cater for him and his parents.
