Microwave Engineering DA-1 ECE 3011 SIDDHARTH.NYAMAGOUDA 17BEC0462 Prof. KANNADASSAN D Basic look Basically, Radio Frequency engineering(RF) is a type or a subset of the branch of electrical engineering. There is a separate spectrum called the radio frequency spectrum, there are many devices which operate in this spectrum or are designed to operate in this spectrum. So, this RF Engineering deals with all such devices. RF and microwave engineering is incorporated into almost everything that transmits or receives a radio wave, which includes but is not limited to mobile phones, radios, Wi-Fi and walkie-talkies, and digital satellite television. As the radio spectrum is a valuable resource with limited availability remaining, the UCT RF and Microwave Engineering group is very involved with exploring fascinating new ways to utilise existing transmitters, and essentially to ‘piggy-back’ off their signals, which would allow for far more efficiency and use of the radio spectrum, while yielding interesting new applications. Role Overview • The RF Engineer will perform RF system and protocol design, develop performance specifications and Interface definitions for vendor data and voice radios, test vendor radios against specifications, and troubleshoot RF performance problems. This service provides critical air/ground data communications for airlines and business aviation enabling aircraft computers to exchange information with ground based computers anywhere in the world usi ...
