Keywords: Lean System UNIT 2 JOURNAL 3 Lean Systems MT430-01 Organizational Behavior Professor Jason Jackson JIT (Just in Time) is when raw materials are ordered only when needed to produce products or services. JIT ensures that products are made in a timely manner for the customer. JIT is also referred to as the “Toyota Production System” (Cartsome,2019). Products are ordered and are readily available to customers there is no need for the customer to have to wait for a backorder, the product is already on the shelf for purchase. Lean production is mainly eliminating waste. This process is beneficial throughout the production until the distribution of the products to customers. Lean production cut out overstock because raw materials are ordered at the time the order is placed instead of having too much inventory, there is just enough, and raw materials are ordered to complete a production job.
