In international marketing, globalization has several pros and cons. These are reasons
why globalization should be encouraged or discouraged. The reasons for globalization are;
Globalization leads to improved quality of products. This is because of the wider market,
marketers tend to produce high quality products due to the high competition across the globe as
consumers remain the main beneficiaries of this.
It also helps companies expand their products all over the globe and gain a global
marketing advantage and make higher profits due to a widened market share.
In marketing around the globe, people are likely to acquire new knowledge and
experience which is an advantage as it helps one develop his brand and improve on it.
Leads to the creation of new jobs as people are required to work in the new markets and
once job opportunities are created, the economy is able to run smoothly.
Marketing globally also makes use of well-trained workers who are given constant
training to keep abreast with the dynamic technological environment.
It also leads to the establishment of good relationships between countries while
increasing free trade.
Reasons against globalization
Marketing globally can pose a challenge as consumer response is quite unpredictable.
This is due to differences in consumer patterns such as needs and wants created by regional
differences. What is acceptable in one region may not be accepted in another hence making it
risky to invest globally due to the high level of uncertainty.
