DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DNP AND PhD NURSING 2
Difference between DNP and PhD Nursing
DNP and Ph.D. nursing are two different fields in nursing that are distinct based on the
roles and contributions in the healthcare settings (May et al., 2020). Significantly, there is the
need to focus on implemented approaches and promotion of a quality nursing approach, which is
useful in the promotion of a quality patient life. DNP nursing, to be specific, is focused on the
clinical aspects of nursing and works on measures to assist in the support and control of illnesses.
The basic management of patients in medical settings is a result of the DNP nursing practice
since it is more focused on the delivery of the medical services and best services to the patients
(Loescher, Love & Badger, 2020). Medical interventions that are needed by the patients are done
by the DNP nursing practice since they are trained to basically provide the required care and
management of the diseases.
Ph.D. nursing, on the other hand, is an advanced nursing scope that is concerned with the
research and improvement of the services in the nursing sector through new discoveries
(Loescher, Love & Badger, 2020). In nursing, there is a need to focus on research and other
useful measures that are necessary for supporting the key metrics and aspects of healthcare (May
et al., 2020). Changes and progress regarding evidence-based nursing practice as the efforts of
Ph.D. nursing since they assess the delivery of nursing services and work on measures to
improve the quality of healthcare practices.
