Pathophysiology case study
Understanding about a given condition helps health specialists to ensure that they can
come up with effective measures that can assist in solving the particular health issue. For that
reason, it is notably essential for practitioners to have background knowledge regarding various
conditions to help in their effective management. For a patient going through a specific health
condition, they are required to ensure that they explain to the practitioner all details of their
situation to facilitate treatment that may address the condition (Myers, 2020).
Introduction and patient problem
James Reeds is a 57-year-old man who lives in Downtown New York. James worked in a
construction company but left the company to focus on small scale farming and small grocery
shop that he established in the countryside of the city. In this region, most people have
appreciated the need to have a medical insurance cover that enables them to acquire quality
health services that may help in meeting their health needs. Over the past days, the patient has
been experiencing pain in the ear, fever, experiencing that the ear is full, and also some fluids
would be seen leaving the ear. At some cases, James could experience that the ear had lost the
ability to hear. Tough the patient had been treated for similar symptoms in the past, he complains
that this time the symptoms feel more intense as compared with the past times. As a practitioner,
one may need to evaluate the extent at which the hearing impairment is extended in the patient as
well as the conditions at which the patient is likely to experience hearing loss and other
conditions based on the primary health issue that he is experiencing.
