The study found 525 potentially relevant papers, and after checking their relevance by
sifting through their abstracts, titles, and date of publishing within the last five years for the
keywords, only 80 papers were retrieved. Based on examining their full-text versions, only 60
out of 80 focused on measuring HAPU prevention in a sample of ICU patients above 64. The 50
articles were further reviewed by a team of independent reviewers through the JBI-MASTARI
tools. From the review, only 31 papers had the quality to be included in the study. 60% of the
reviews used RCT designs (n=17), seven studies were pre-post designs, four had a post-test plan
comparing three groups, and four were quasi-experimental studies. The studies were done
globally on ICU patients above the age of 64 (n=7125).
