The FedEx Corporation is one of the leading service delivery companies in North
America and across the globe. The company was founded in 1973 as the federal express and was
involved in urgent package shipment across North America. The company began its formal
operations in Memphis, Tennessee, near the Memphis international airport (de Waal Malefyt,
2019). The company's operations are divided into various units, including ground deliveries
within Canada and the US, the FedEx express, an overnight air international service, and the
FedEx freight. The company is known to have pioneered the overnight shipping service with a
system that tracks packages providing real-time updates on package location.
Since its first operations in 1973, the company has grown to operate in more than 220
countries and territories. The company's rapid growth saw it receive billion dollars in revenue in
1983, a rarity for the company without mergers and acquisitions. The company had revenue of
