Self-concept attachment is when the product helps establish the user's identity, and this is
especially true with products from renowned brands. So the consumer would want to be
associated with it to have a sense of belonging. Identifying with apple products gives one
confidence and loyalty, and one cannot get a product from elsewhere. When a user's identity
gets developed and established, they tend to have trust in that particular product and never make
their purchases from anywhere else.
Nostalgic attachment is that whereby the product serves as a link with a past self.
Consumers want to have a long term association with a company’s give product (Kennedy &
Laczniak, 2016). This way, once the company decides to do away with the product, or upgrade,
the consumers will have a say ono how the new product might look like. In some instances, the
consumers might want to retain the original product. Apple watches can tell the time. Moreover,
they can enable one to respond to messages and even measure their heartbeat, and this would
remind one of what the wristwatch would be able to do but just to some extent.
Interdependence manifests in a way that product is a part of the user’s daily routine”
(Kennedy & Laczniak, 2016). A watch is part of a daily routine; one would love to know the
time. Besides that, one would even be glad to reasons for a message just by a single tap. If one
can get to know their heartbeat from a watch, then that's incredible. Since people make payments
every time they visit a store, they would be glad to do it by tapping on the clock. The apple
watch would make humans depend on it since it improves efficiency.
