PAPER 2
Introduction
Human beings have an extraordinary way of visual processing information. The first step
of visual information processing is the eyes and the ability to see stimuli. The visual information
is thereafter evaluated using cognitive skills and then stored. The eyes work in conjunction with
the brain to process various aspects of the world and convert them into visual data (Coren &
Girgus, 2020). The visual data is then processed, understood by humans, and used. There are,
however, conditions that impair the sight and the ability of humans to recognize objects.
Research is, therefore, ongoing to establish measures that can be utilized to overcome these
conditions. The research is also serving a crucial purpose in understanding the biochemical
reactions that enable humans to process visual data. This paper focuses on visual information
processing and the conditions that impair it and discusses some of the current trends in the
research.
Visual information Processing
This is the cognitive skills through which people are able to process and interpret the
visual information they receive through sight. Visual information processing is the ability to
interpret what people see. Good visual information processing is the ability to accurately process
and analyze what we see and store in visual memory for future remembrance. The most crucial
sense in visual information processing is sight. It involves more than 80% of the daily
information we perceive. Even if the other senses were to be stopped, the sight would still help
us perceive things across the world without much harm. Human beings largely invest in
processing visual information.
