Q1 Describe the three models of cloud computing based on NIST clouding computing
reference architecture. List the advantages and disadvantages of each model. (20 points)
Infrastructure as a service (IaaS): IaaS is made by computerizing and adapting resources and
processes implemented by network capacity and cloud storage accessible on the internet. The
cloud servers and assets are offered by API. The clients can directly access their services
increasing their versatility. Clients can fabricate and outsource virtual servers’ in the cloud
considering the assets' abilities of the server without quantification or administration of the
server. Examples include cloud hosting, virtual data centers and internal business networks.
Advantages
Consumers have genuine control over the base than users of SaaS and PaaS.
Iaas ensures the resources are available to the users when in need
Since the cloud providers can start and maintain the hardware, IaaS saves on both time and cost
IaaS is flexible thus can be accessed best on the requirements of the consumers
Since IaaS is flexible, it is easy to be marketed.
Disadvantages
There is less security of data stored in IaaS.
IaaS is prone to technical problems
It requires constant upgrade and maintenance
Platform as a Service (PaaS): PaaS provides the platform for producing and conveying
programs. Suppliers of PaaS do significant work in managing servers and giving consumers a
