Leadership traits for successfully managing in the clinical area
Effective clinical leadership is linked to several functions. It is an essential
requirement in the clinical area, including timely care delivery, organization performance, the
realization of health reform goals and system efficiency, and Integrity. The hospital's clinical
area is critical to a healthcare organization, considering that it is the level that customers
primarily interact with the hospital system. At this point, the customers are the hospital’s
care recipients, and they onlook all operations and experience in the functionality of the
system. Also, it is at this level that customers observe the system's strengths and weaknesses
and conflict and collaboration among health practitioners. Clinical leadership is the process
by which a leader influences point of care innovations and improvements in both individual
and organizational care practices to attain quality and safety outcomes. In contemporary
healthcare, it is paramount that clinical leaders adopt leadership traits that foster high-quality
health care by providing safe and efficient care.
Leadership Traits
. Clinical leadership is required to foster innovative solutions. Advances in healthcare
technologies have forced clinical leaders to engage in innovative practices to improve the
level of care. A leader with an innovative mindset can successfully manage any catastrophic
outcomes in the health care organization. Innovations also enrich clinical leadership training
and development by enlarging the nurses’ repertoire of strategies when solving problems in
sophisticated conditions (Alloubani, 2018). With a creative leader, any issues arising can be
resolved creatively even when there is no enough time or if the issue is complicated.
Communication skills are vital skills for leaders in clinical care. Every individual
providing clinical care is affected and affects the communication process, which creates a
synthesis of feelings, cognitions, and expertise; hence, moving the internal system forward.
