Executive Summary
This paper will start by defining what an HR project is and how the Southwest operates to
meet its mission and vision statements. It will then discuss some of the current strategies and issues
at disposal for the human resource to use. We will then look at the type of strategy Southwest
Airlines has decided to use in its activities. The paper will also identify three HRM implications
for Southwest Airlines. The development and justification of the business strategies for each of
the three HRM implications will also be done. Last but not least, the paper will explore what is
meant by the term HR strategy.
