GLOBALIZATION
GLOBALIZATON is the process of interaction and integration among people, companies, and
governments worldwide.
It is considered by some as a form of capitalist expansion which entails the integration of local
and national economies into a global, unregulated market economy.
It has grown due to advances in:
Transportation
Communication
With increased global interactions comes the growth of international trade, ideas and culture.
There are three types of globalization these include;
1. Economic globalization
2. Cultural globalization
3. Political globalization
1. ECONOMIC GLOBALIZATION;
This refers to widespread of international movement of goods, capital, services, technology and
information.
It has grown at an increased rate due to improvements in the efficiency of long distance
transportation, advances in telecommunication.

Capital fight
Global labor and fair trade movements
Mistreatment
Health risks

2. CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION
Refers to the transmission of ideas, meanings and values around the world in such a way is to
extend and intensify social relations. It is marked by the common consumption of cultures that
has been diffused by the internet, popular culture media and international travel. This has
added to process of commodity exchange and colonization which have a larger history of
carrying cultural movement around the globe.
IMPACTS OF CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION:
Urbanization and Migration
Spread of ideas and theories
Race of ethnic and class systems
Social inequalities
3. POLITICAL GLOBALIZATION
This refers to the growth of the worldwide political system, both in size and complexity. That
system includes; national governments, their governmental and intergovernmental
organizations as well as government independent elements of global civil society such as
international non-governmental organizations and social movements organizations.
IMPACTS OF POLITICAL GLOBALIZATIONS:
Loss of autonomy and fragmentation of the social world
Changes in democratization of the world
Creation of the global civil society
Global governance: movement towards political cooperation
Creation and existence of United Nations
Social movements such as environmental protection
Led to the creation of world government like democracy
