Hello, student! Welcome to Studypool.com. I am Aubrey, an Electronics Engineering student from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. Today, we will be discussing the basics of logarithm. LOGARITHM Before explaining the solution of your problem, let me first introduce to you the basics and rules of logarithm. Logarithm, by definition, means that the base b of a number x is the exponent y that is required to raise the base in order to obtain the number. If 𝑏 𝑦 = 𝑥, then 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 (𝑥 ) = 𝑦. Take a look at the example below: If 34 = 81, then 𝑙𝑜𝑔3 (81) = 4. Now that we have discussed the basics of log, we are now ready to view the rules of logarithm. LOGARITHM RULES Logarithm Product Rule 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 (𝑥 ∙ 𝑦) = 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 (𝑥) + 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 (𝑦) Logarithm Quotient Rule 𝑥 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 ( ) = 𝑙𝑜𝑔𝑏 (𝑥) − ? ...
