MOTIVATION THEORY AND GENERATIONAL COHORTS 2
Motivation Theory and Generational Cohorts
LA1: Motivation theory
My theory of motivation focuses on three main factors which comprise of hygiene, needs, and
motivators. The three factors establish how the worker gets motivated to work/perform or how
demotivated the workers are. The hygiene factors comprise of organization approaches, working
conditions, supervision, security, pay, and wellbeing at work. Such factors tend to determine how
inspired/motivated the worker is, for instance, employees working in offices which are extremely
hot throughout summer and very cold throughout winter aren’t motivated and inspired work.
Motivators refer to the factors that are natural and usual the employment, for instance,
intriguing work, rewards, expanded obligations, headway, as well as development openings.
Employees get motivated by factors like acknowledgment via rewards or increased pay.
Organizations that pay well tend to experience high employees’ motivation as well as high
general performance. Besides, the needs comprise of the need for power, accomplishment, and
affiliation. The people with high need for accomplishment get motivated by the need to work
hard. Moreover, a specialist who gets splendid fulfillment from meeting the due dates,
considering and thinking of splendid thoughts, as well as planning her/his next vocation move
may be high in accomplishment’s requirement. Individuals with a high affiliation requirement
like to get acknowledge and enjoyed by others. Besides, when offered a decision, they feel
motivated and like to collaborate with other individuals and be with the companions. Eventually,
those with high requirement/need for power and control want to impact other people and control
their environment. Need for power can be hazardous of a person’s relations in case it seems to
look for and using authority for a person’s own particular greatness and fame.
