Existential phenomenology
Phenomenology
Phenomenology is the study of a phenomenon or the experience from one person
point of view. This study first launched by Husserl, Heidegger, and many other scientists in
the early 20
th
century.
Phenomenology is connected and distinguished from other sections of philosophy
like epistemology, ethics, etc. This studies the conscious experiences of any subject. The
experience includes memory, emotion, imagination, thinking, etc. These types of experiences
belong to ‘intentionality’ means they are intended towards any object.
Sometimes phenomenology only limited in our sensations like hearing, watching, etc.
But our experiences are richer than that. This consciousness involves spatial and temporal
awareness, a linguistic activity like communication, self-awareness, another person’s
awareness, body actions, social interaction, everyday work surrounding the world, and many
more. Phenomenology changes conscious experiences to conditions to gain experiences about
intentionality.
Existentialism
Existential phenomenology desires to manifest a broad concept of human existence. It
is related to the concept of ‘Existentialism’. Kierkegaard told or explained about this, which
was being debated within other philosophists.
It tells that human beings for existing in the world, are thrown to some
responsibilities to others, and even towards themselves. They make some choices or
decisions, and according to them they work and gain experiences (which can be mental or
theoretical), and those are emotional, political, social, about relationships, and many more.
They never know whether these decisions are good or bad, but every human being is unique,
and they are protruded to multiple choices in the whole world. Everyone makes some
