Background
Essentially drugs are very poisonous. The amount taken has got a greater impact on the bodies of
the ones abusing them. A drug is a stimulant, and a small amount of it speeds you up whereas if
taken in large quantities it acts as a sedative of slows you down. Therefore if taken in larger
amount may be very poisonous and kill you down with your knowledge. It is usually true for all
drugs abused; only the amount needed to achieve the effect differs.
Use of drugs affects the mind. They often distort the user’s perception of what is happening
around him or her thus the person actions may be odd, inappropriate, and irrational and even
become destructive. Drugs block all the sensations, although they provide a short-term help in
the relief of pain, they wipe out ability and alertness and muddy one’s thinking
Most people take drugs for various reasons. Perhaps they want to change something in their
lives. Thus here are some of the reasons why people abuse drugs; to experiment, seem grown up,
and relieve boredom, to escape or relax, to rebel. Most of them think taking drugs or abusing
them will solve their problems. But usually, this is not the case since the drugs abused in the long
run become a problem to them. The problems that people face are much better than the
consequences of the drugs abused.
Introduction
International trade in drugs involves the following most abused drugs cocaine, heroin,
amphetamines, and opium. Most of those drugs abused have been in a frustrating world stage.
