Nihilism Meaning of Life
Nihilism can be described as the refutation of all religious and moral doctrines and the
belief in life being meaningless. Most people view nihilism as a form of emo atheism in
which every person will eventually die and therefore there is no point in living. This is
always not true for those who understand the concept of nihilism. The term nihilism was
widely used to describe the breakdown of conservative morality in the West. In the 1900s,
nihilism was linked to a number of atheistic and philosophical beliefs (Pojman, 2009). These
atheistic and philosophical stances either in some way or the other conferred with the concept

saving lives can be considered as being morally correct, but in the eyes of nihilists none of
the two actions is fundamentally right or wrong. From their stance, nihilists believe that the
status of an action being described as right or wrong was created by humanity (Metz, 2002).
They describe them as meanings given to actions so as to exemplify economic, psychological
or social value. Therefore, the value in morals is subjective, arbitrary and changeable in some
