Discussion

The selected topic for the final paper is sports and football players and how they can

work in making they are presented in the profession. The dependent variable is sports while the

independent variable is football players. By definition, an independent variable is known as the

variable the examiner changes or controls. This variable is often assumed to bear a direct effect

on the dependent variable. On the other hand, the dependent variable is defined as the variable

that is being tested, measured, and calculated in any given research study. When talking about

dependency, it implies that the variable is directly influenced by the independent variable

(McLeod, 2019). Sports will be measured through the number of games played, matches

completed, time taken, and performance. Football players will be measured through the number

of passes made, fouls committed, red cards given, player performance, as well as goals scored

during a given match.

The independent variable, football players, will be measured using the ordinal scale. This

level of measurement will help to show the order of the variable and not the difference between

each of the independent variables. This scale is vital because it depicts non-mathematical ideas,

including the level of completion, frequency, as well as degree of games completed. With the

dependent variable, sports, a nominal scale will be used to measure it. This scale will classify the

dependent variable in various categories by labeling variables into diverse classifications. Unlike

the ordinal scale, this measurement will not quantify value or even place variables in a specific

order. In attempts to ensure validity as well as credibility of the variables used, the researcher

will ensure use appropriate data collection methods. Besides, the research’s sample size will be

selected using a random sampling technique.
