Obesity in adults
Obesity can be defined as the excessive accumulation of fat in an abnormal way that causes
risk problems in the health of the affected person (Hay & Mitchison, 2019). Some of the risks
include type II diabetes and other chronic illnesses. Medical practitioners have considered the
condition as a long-term lifestyle disease. Many people worldwide suffer from the condition, and
many are looking for ways to address the issue and receive help, but no one seems to hear their
cries (Hay & Mitchison, 2019). Obesity affects people of all ages, regardless of their gender. In
this paper, I will be focusing my attention on adults who are suffering from the condition. This is
because they form the most significant number of people who suffer from obesity and because the
problems they face are more severe. This is because losing weight is hard, unlike teenagers and
children who have the energy to work out.
Adults have been seen to get obese very quickly. This is because they easily change their
lifestyles after they start working. This causes them to have very little time working out as they
mostly spend their time in their offices (Wilfley et al., 2018). Most times, they get the condition at
a young age and carry it on to adulthood. This is usually due to spending time indoors instead of
leaving the house and going outside to play with other children. This is further worsened by the
fact that they might have been eating so much food. The two factors combined lead to obesity
within a short period. Experts argue that most of the people who enter adulthood with obesity last
with the condition of their entire lives. The condition should be controlled before it gets out of
hand, and the person develops health issues.
Health education programs have been set up and started so that those people with the
condition learn how to control it (Wilfley et al., 2018). The education programs also help the
people without the condition learn how they cannot get it in the first place. This can help a lot of
