The article I read was titled "What are the biggest problems women face today" The article
was written by Alex wong and was published on the Politico Magazine on the 8th of March 2019.
The article talks about the problems that women all over the world are facing today. The article
spreads and looks at how the rights of women are violated across the globe. Some of the reasons
provided in the article for this happening are many. However, the article puts a lot of emphasis on
patriarchy and the lack of equality of both genders. The author then supports his ideas by giving
sufficient facts that would make anyone side with him.
After reading the article, I developed several reactions. At first, I was sympathetic as
women were going through a lot in their daily lives. I had not seen the problems they were facing
from the angle the writer put it. My second reaction was joy since I had seen how the author was
writing about the women who were struggling in patriarchal societies just so that they could fight
for their fellow men's rights. I was also disgusted by the fact that older men would opt to marry
young girls despite their young age. It was saddening how many girls had to drop out of school to
get married and start a family, yet they have not even attained the age of 18. The community should
protect such children, but that is not happening at all. Instead, society is against the female gender
and is doing all it can to suppress women.
