b. Subdivided Lands Law defines a subdivision as the division of land into five or

more lots for the purpose of sale, lease or financing.

c. These laws are administered by the California Real Estate Commissioner and

local officials.

3. Which Act in Question 2 above requires the issuance of a public report?

4. Explain the following terms: General Plan, Police Power & Zoning, be specific.

a. A General Plan is a plan that recognizes the individual characteristics of a general

community. It consists of Resource Analysis, Formulation of Community goals,

and then to actually implement the plan.

b. Police Power is the constitutional right of the government to regulate private

activity to promote the general health, welfare, and safety of a society.

c. Zoning is the division of land into designated land-use districts. These districts are

then divided in residential use, commercial use, industrial use and rural use.
