CLOUD COMPUTING 2
Cloud computing
With the increased advancement in technology, it is apparent that today, programs and
data can directly be stored and accessed over the internet as compared to their before where these
programs and data were mainly stored in hard drives. A good example of a cloud is the email
system, such as Gmail or Yahoo. There are various pros that are associated with cloud
computing. These include lower operating costs associated with Information Technology within
an organization, lower capital costs, quick access to all the services in computing needed and
minimal or no installation or maintenance of software or hardware within an organization
(Efozia, Ariwa, Asogwa, Awonusi, & Anigbogu, 2017, August).
Ideally, different organizations manage to provide several services to their customers or
clients through the use of resources of large-scale computing, mainly from providers of services
in the cloud, thus meeting the high demand of the customers in the market. The fact that no
maintenance of hardware and software is required to act as a huge boost to the organizations too.
However, there are some threats and vulnerabilities that face cloud computing (Saini, Upadhyaya
& Khandelwal, 2019). For instance, there is a likelihood that there might be a compromise of the
internet-accessible management or APIs that most customers make use when making interactions
with services from the cloud. These can lead to exploitation leading to loss of crucial data and
information.
The other vulnerability is that the increased demand for self-service results in the
simplification of unauthorized use. Any unauthorized access to data in an organization is so
dangerous since it can result in the loss of the same data. Also, cloud computing services make
things difficult for customers since they have reduced control and visibility. All these benefits of
cloud computing are not worth these vulnerabilities and threats since the pros of technology
