The Role of Ethics in the Supervisor's Decision Making Process
Ethics is associated with moral principles that guide human behavior. Some of these
morals are formed by religious inspirations, social norms, and cultural practices. Therefore, when
deciding on a personal level, you should consider ethics as the backbone of that decision. Every
human being has different values that we should reflect in our daily life and notice when the
values change. More so, when making an ethical decision, it entails interpretation and judgment
(Mosely, Mosely & Pietri, 2015). Consequently, supervisors should settle on choices reliably,
and a heavy part of these choices have a moral measurement. Supervisors should make a
decision that will benefit the whole organization and increase the productivity of the company.
Furthermore, supervisors are frequently in the undesirable position of making
troublesome choices about achieving more with less, maybe notwithstanding scaling back
projects or staff, brought on by a lessened subsidizing and expanded expenses. Those working
under such an environment are under expanded anxiety that can lead to misguided thinking
(Berggren & Severinsson, 2003). Therefore, the directors are vital in alleviating power in
evading nervousness driven misguided thinking. Supervisors should allow the values to change
and grow upon them every moment they make an ethical decision. More so, every decision made
should uplift and motivate others to provide a favorable working environment. Making an ethical
decision for the organization makes the workers work together as a team.
Additionally, ethics helps the supervisors build a strong relationship with the workers,
which brings trust. Trust will make the supervisors know the company's progress because they
can socialize with the staff positively (Akhavan, Ramezan & Moghaddam, 2013). More so,
supervisors should treat every worker in the organization equally and showing consistency in
ethical decision making. Supervisors must have good leadership skills by making the right
