Insights Gained From Interview with an HR Executive
The interview with the Human Resource executive was a significant moment for me.
Before the interview with the HR executive, I already had some knowledge from the textbook
read in class about the course. HR executive provided me with great insight on their
responsibilities as well as missions at the workplace (Sheehan, 2016, p. 8). First, I was impressed
because the HR executive was responsible for the development experienced in the organization
by supporting employees by coaching and offering training to them. In this part, I was in a
position to gain an insight into the connection between Human Resource management as well as
organizational development, I learnt from the textbook.
Apart from the textbook theories, it is a fact that human resource management is a field
that can be more creative in areas that promote and motivate employees, which ultimately boosts
productivity as well as engagement. In my view, HR executives put in a lot of effort in areas
dealing with performance management in organizations. Hence, through their responsibilities at
the workplace, HR executives focus on higher levels of job satisfaction and commitment, along
with reduced levels of employee turnover (Cascio, 2016, p. 305). I also gained an insight that the
responsibilities of HR executives are to deal with employment issues at an administrative level in
an organization. They determine how to recruit competent staff to work in their organizations,
and also to retain experienced staff. Also, the job responsibilities of HR executives is to address
employee complains, train employees, and develop an organization's programs.
Conclusively, the most important insight I gained from the interview with the HR
executive is that their roles are understand organization's implications of the HR area, where they
are responsible for and discuss the organizations' objectives with staff and other managers. Also,
