There are a few ways that individuals can take drugs, which could be through ingestion,
inhalation, as well as injection. Moreover, the effect of drugs on the body of users may depend
on how they are delivered. For instance, the injection of drugs may directly affect the
bloodstream, which is characterized by an immediate effect. On the other hand, drugs that are
administered through ingestion are usually associated with a delayed effect. Nevertheless, all
drugs that are misused have long-lasting effects on the brain.
