Julius Caesar 2
Julius Caesar
Julius Caesar’s early life had characteristics of political persecution and military
adventurism. He was born during 100 BC on July 13 in Subura, Rome (Wiseman, 2017). He was
born in a patriarchal family descended from Prince Aeneas’ son or goddess Venus’ son. The Julii
originated from Alban and was known as the tip Alban houses that established a settlement in
Rome during the middle of seventh century BC after Alba Longa destruction. They were given
the status of being patricians with the other families of the Alban. The Julii were also present
during the ancient period of altering inscription in the town’s theatre. Despite the early pedigree,
the Caesares of the Julii had no political influence. However, they enjoyed some political
fortune’s revival during the first century BC.
Caesar's father, Gaius Julius Caesar, governed Asia province and Aurelia Cotta, his
mother came from an influential family. His father died when Julius was 16 and left him as the
household’s head during 85 BC. Caesar’s maturity coincided with the civil war between Lucius
Cornelius Sulla, his rival, and Gaius Marius, his uncle. Sulla won the fight. Lucius and Marius
controlled the city during the nomination of Caesar as Jupiter’s high priest. After some battles,
Caesar became part of the army to move from Sulla. It made Caesar move up in the rank
(Wiseman, 2017). He came back to Rome after the death of Sulla. He searched for the restoration
of his fortune and tied his hands in politics. Pirates kidnapped Caesar and kept him for ransom.
He maintained a superior air concerning him, and after payment of the ransom, he arranged ships
and an army that took captive all the pirates. During Caesar’s life, he held several various roles
titles. Among some notable titles, Caesar served ab an orator, quaestor, life’s dictator, governor,
consul, Pontifex Maximus, and statesman.
