Cybercrimes have greatly increased in recent years. Combating cybercrimes occurrences
has been difficult because hackers have gained advanced skills in hacking by the adoption of
complex tools and programs. Many corporations have incurred huge losses as a result of high-
profile security breach. This newsletter article will highlight the main ways in which
corporations can incorporate techniques in data science to improve their cyber defense.
Due to the technicality of protecting personal and organization sensitive data from
unnecessary hands, there is a need to get an advanced strategic plan to protect organizational data
(Networking and Information Technology Research and Development (NITRD) Program, 2014).
The most important factor to consider while laying out the strategic plan is the next generation's
capabilities. By using big data analytics (BDA), it will give an organization the upper hand in
cybersecurity.
The BDA can store large chunks of data and hence aids the analysts' study and detect any
irregular activities in a certain network ("How big data helps avoid cybersecurity threats," 2018).
This plays a big role in escaping cybercrimes in an institution. Cybercrime attacks can cause
great losses in a company, and because of this reason, 84% of businesses use BDA in their
cybersecurity systems. BDA is also popular because it detects and resolves any irregularities in a
network within the shortest time possible. In improve cybersecurity in a business, it should
consider using backing-up tools that are easily interpreted by the BDA experts to foresee the
intensity of a threat and handle it without delay.
While upgrading and enhancing the cybersecurity of a company, it is essential to put into
