Abstract
Illegal immigration consists of people who have either entered the country illegally or
have remained in the country long after their legal entry had expired. Most illegal immigrants
come to the United States from many other countries and find ways to trespass border patrol and
other means of protection surrounding the country, but there are many that obtain entry into the
United States legally but choose not to leave when is has come time for them to return home.
Many come for work or business, many come for school or to better their children’s education,
and most come for pleasure. Either way it is causing financial burdens for the United States in
having to locate the illegals with policemen or military personnel, illegals occupying jobs and
careers that could potentially be occupied by Americans, and causing schools to spend more
money trying to teach illegal children English as a second language. The cost of deporting illegal
immigrants keeps rising and continues to be a financial burden on America because officers and
military personnel must be paid to do their jobs. With illegal immigration on the rise we can
expect to pay more to have these people sent back to their home countries.
Regardless the amount of illegal immigrants can cause massive harm to the country by
causing classrooms to become overpopulated with children who do not speak English as their
first language and also cause teachers to require new training in order to speak a second language
just so these children can be educated. This in turn causes a financial burden on each school
system that has to pay for teacher training in a second language. It also places a huge financial
burden on money that comes into the schools for education purposes and redirects it to cover the
cost of free lunches for these students, materials to help the students learn English, and housing
for each family. They also drain the economy of money when given benefits from the
