The idea of the Taoism about the Patriarch Bodhi and his disciples to become
immortals by developing conscious spirit body to avoid death is depicted in the monkey king.
After gaining the weapon and the armour, sun Wukong decided to become immortal. To
attain this, he storms hell and erased his name and those of his monkeys from the book of hell
which made them immortal (Jian-ying, 805). When the Jade Emperor found out, he
summoned Sun Wukong to punish him but was advised by the other Heavenly beings to give
him a non-existing post in heaven. The position as the keeper of the heavenly horses also
called the Bimawen did not impress him, so he decided to challenge the Jade Emperor.
However, his powers were fast, and the divine beings could not subdue him.
The idea of Buddha comes across when the Emperor is aided by the Sakyamuni Buddha to
subdue and imprison the wukong who had been named the great sage by the earthly
immortals. After imprisonment, he begged the goddess mercy (Kuan Yin) to release him.
Additionally, in this story, the idea of Buddhism is brought out in the case where The Great
Sage Equal to Heaven in defeated by Buddha. Buddha thrust the monkey out the west gate of
heaven through the earth and pinned his there ender a five-peaked mountain formed by
Buddha’s hand. Besides, the western heaven is known to be a place where the good Buddhist
is taken after death where they progressively develop to become Buddha’s themselves.
The stone monkey and with other monkeys they were searching for the bottomless
source of water when they came across the mighty waterfall. The idea of bottomlessness can
only exist in a supernatural realm. The monkeys also believed that behind the curtain of water
there lies the actual power to their future. Additionally, the Sun Wukong came back after
being banished by the master he finds out that a monster had attacked his fellow monkeys.
Besides the magical golden hooped weapon has supernatural power to transform. Chinese
methodology about dragons is benevolent, and their magnificent palaces and treasure hordes
are legendary. In quest of power, sun wukong goes to the dragon king to find a weapon
