3 Allegory/Matrix Connections.

When you watch the Matrix, it is clear that The Allegory of the Cave has had a strong influence

over the story and concept of the film.

Did any of these connections strike you? Absolutely.

QUESTION 1. WHERE THERE ANY ASPECTS OF THE MOVIE THAT

REALLY SPOKE TO YOU COMING STRAIGHT FROM PLATO'S ALLEGORY

OF THE CAVE?

For instance, I was really interested in the Wachowski sisters reversal of light and dark (the

reality is dark and the shadow cave is light).

Now it is time to think about a modern-day Morpheus/Plato example.

Basically, as identified in the movie and Plato’s allegory of the cave, it takes effort to see the

reality and free oneself from illusions. At times, it takes the effort of other people to free us from

illusions and take us into reality. In the modern-day, we have several individuals who help us to

see the reality just like Morpheus/Plato. One such person is Elon Mask. Elon has become a

world-wide icon who shows that there is a lot that can be achieved in life through hard work and

persistence. Through his mentorship programs, Elon Mask has help various young computer

engineers too unleash their goals and do more to life rather than just getting basic employment.

QUESTION 2. ARE THERE ANY SCENARIOS WHERE WE NEED TO BE

MADE TO SEE THE LIGHT?

Events like the Coronavirus come to mind as well, what truths about our modern society are

exposed as we navigate the current pandemic?
