Super Typhoon Yolanda was, without a doubt, one of the
deadliest and most destructive tropical cyclones to hit the
Philippines. Despite the warnings and cautions from the
authorities, it still made massive casualties. It ended the lives of
over 6,300 Filipinos; thousands of Filipinos, particularly in the
Visayan group of Islands, were left displaced from their homes;
and destroyed many infrastructures, establishments, and houses.
Because authorities underestimated the cyclone, there was a lack
of preparation and response before, during, and after the
typhoon. Besides, according to the news, before the storm
landed, many people didn't bother to check and repair their
houses but instead had fun, drank alcoholic beverages, and
ignored the cautions. Their complacency, stubbornness, and
disobedience lead to their terrible fate and death.
