breath sample was from someone with or without cancer.
2. Explain why blinding in this experiment is important.
Dogs are highly intelligent and pick up any signal given from their handlers or other people.
If the handers knew whether the breath sample was from someone with cancer, they might
be able to “inform” their dogs about the results, this could be done intentionally or
unintentionally through body language or facial expressions. And they would therefore
make the results of the study unreliable.
