Creating a diverse team of employees with different strengths
Developing a diverse team is very beneficial to the organization as it comes along with
innovation and creativity. This way, the team's productivity is improved by the creativity skills
of the team members who come from different walks of life. Also, having a diverse and strong
team brings in new ideas and viewpoints, thus becoming easier to find solutions to challenge
team tasks. With all these, the image and profitability of the organization are enhanced.
However, to develop such a diverse team involves some ways.
One of the best ways that I would use in creating a diverse team with different strengths
is by improving the recruitment strategy (Yeager & Nafukho, 2012). To attract a diverse
workforce, one needs to rethink their recruitment strategy. This involves rethinking about the
language used when advertising any openings, offering appealing policies and packages, creating
a wider package, appreciating technology, and avoiding bias. Another important way of
developing a diverse team with different strengths is by celebrating employee differences.
Different workers have varying strengths and abilities. Therefore, it will be easier to develop a
diverse and effective team by understanding and celebrating these differences. Additionally,
providing development opportunities for team members is an effective way of developing a
diverse team. This includes facilitating them to attend network events and relevant conferences.
Moreover, making every team member feel valued and appreciated is also a way of
developing a diverse team with different strengths. Valuing and appreciating the workforce will
get them motivated to deliver to their best thus, one ends up having a very effective team in place
with diverse ideas and viewpoints. Customizing the team's vision and strategy will boost in
developing a diverse team of employees with different strengths (Yeager & Nafukho, 2012). The
