Sociology of Law

The two types of criminal possession, namely, illegal drug possession and illegal

possession of firearms, are becoming rampant in the United States. Illegal drugs such as cocaine

and heroin are illegal in the U.S. since they are believed to be the primary cause of higher crime

rates in the country. Coupled with possession of an illegal firearm, murder charges can skyrocket

where most drug addicts will carry out a robbery with violence for their sustainability.

Some illegal drugs, such as marijuana, should not be prohibited. Various research studies

have found that marijuana has been tested to be used as medicinal marijuana. According to

Keyhani et al. (2018), Medicinal marijuana can be used to treat glaucoma, prevent Alzheimer’s,

and provide relive on arthritis. Consequently, firearms must be made illegal for a particular

group of people, such as the youths and the old population. Currently, youths have been

questioned over the years concerning their state of mind. They have not proven their mental

stability. Therefore, it is straightforward for youths to engage in arguments with fellow youths,

family or friends concerning girlfriends, football matches that can often end in fights with the

drugs available. Whenever they possess these firearms, it can only cause more chaos.

have introduced the concept of why it is illegal to possess the two items is incredible. However,

on your second prompt, you could have expounded more by providing some proven examples of

how marijuana contains healing properties. Overall, Good Job.
