Introduction
Ethics refers to a set of values as well as principles that are used to guide a person or an
organization in making decisions and in their daily activities. Therefore, an organizational ethic
program or code of ethics is defined as the principles and values that are responsible for guiding
the actions, policies as well as the making of decisions (Wesarat, Yazam & Majid, 2017). The
objectives of developing and implementing an organizational ethic program are to detect, prevent
and punish the legal violators as well as violation actions. Additionally, organizational ethics
have a greater meaning than just avoiding illegal actions and practices. Instead, it is used to
provide organizational employees with a rule book to address the problems that underlie the
unlawful conduct.
The ethics programs are two, which include, the compliance-based ethics as well as the
value-based ethics program. The value-based code of ethics is also referred to as integrity-based
ethics program. There is a big difference between the two types of ethics programs (Michael,
020). the differences are that the compliance-based ethics program responsible for using legal
terms, rules of conduct, training as well as penalties for noncompliance actions or practices. On
the other hand, the value-based program relies on self-policing as well as motivation instead of
coercion.
All businesses are subjected to different regulations and laws that are used in governing
their conduct. For instance, there are rules/laws used for regulating the relationship between
employees and employers. The rules are also used to ensure the working conditional are health
and safety to ensure that customers are well-protected. Therefore, it is very illegal for a
salesman/woman to make material misrepresentation regarding the products. Thus, a
compliance-based ethics program comes in to try to address these kinds of issues. The purpose of
