Value-Percept Theory Explanation
The value-percept theory contends that job satisfaction is dependent on whether workers
feel their jobs provide things they most value. The value-percept approach recommends that job
holders evaluate employees job satisfaction according to their explicit job facets. The job
satisfaction is majorly based on affective and cognitive components evaluated by how an
employee thinks and feels about the work environment (Brown, 2016). The cognitive evaluation
based on the employee's experiences weighed upon different aspects of the job, which can
fluctuate regarding their emotions and moods. In this case, the employee's dissatisfaction is
measured according to the difference between what the employee has and what they want and
the importance level of the individuals value. According to statistics, supplying employees with
the value most increases the chances of better performances correlates with their affective
commitment.
This job satisfaction theory encourages an employer that his employees are well satisfied
if they receive a vivid payment satisfaction, reasonable supervision satisfaction, co-workers
satisfaction, promotion satisfaction, or work task satisfaction they ordinarily value. The
employees' perception defines the pay satisfaction towards their payment system compared to the
pay they want and the pay they receive. Although all employees need a better income, a business
plays them according to their job roles and ranks. For promotional satisfaction, the employees’
concerns are about the company’s promotional policies and their execution. While evaluating the
employees’ supervision, their satisfaction is expressed through their feeling towards the
manager’s humbleness, communication skills, and competency. For the co-worker and work task
satisfaction, an employee reflects their sense towards his teammates and their perspectives
towards work and responsibilities (Dynamics, 2019).
