ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE 2
What is your definition of AI? Please explain.
Artificial Intelligence is the application of human knowledge to the machines so that they
can perform the same tasks done by human beings and do so in a more efficient manner (Azizi,
2019). With the innovation in technology, human-like computerized machines have been
developed that are able to reason and solve organizational problems sometimes in a better way
than human beings. With these significant innovations, managers are no longer required to
analyze huge chunks of data, as was the case before. Machines can collect huge data from the
organizational sources, analyze the data and make inferences from the data which can be used in
steering the organization towards achieving its goals and objectives.
Further, where organizational roles are repetitive and thus easy to learn, machines have
been used to replace human resources. However, if the organizational tasks require a lot of
reasoning and creativity in their execution, machines are less likely effective in such scenarios.
Therefore, although AI has replaced human resources in most of the organizations, this has not
been achieved entirely. However, most of the technocrats have advocated for the replacement of
human resources with machines since machines are not affected by most of the challenges facing
human resources (Sodhro et al., 2019). For instance, human beings quickly get tired, and
therefore productivity reduces with the advancement of time.
On the other hand, if robots are used to perform similar roles, their productivity may be
higher since they will work at the same rate from the beginning of the day till late hours of the
day. Therefore, the manager can predict the level of output of the robots on a specific day or
month. However, for the human beings, it may be difficult to estimate the level of production
since it can be affected by a myriad of factors. Moreover, human resources require motivation
inform of incentives and other rewards to boost their productivity. For the machines, no
