Cultural Identifiers
Cultural identifiers are significant facts that identify particular groups of individuals
based on their belonging to particular cultures. Identifiers form their basis on shared perceptions
and ideologies and primarily depend on our view of the entire world. Identifiers form crucial
elements in contributing significantly to individuals' general growth, development, and well-
being. Identifiers are socially and historically and socially based. They form the primary ways
individuals develop a strong sense of identity amongst themselves and other individuals within a
given social or community setting (Maestri, 2017). Identity also forms a significant way of
socialization amongst peers, families, institutions, and organizations, to mention a few.
Identifiers as well form the basis through which power and authority are perceived at different
levels. The power afterward offers significant insights on discrimination observed in some
individual groups as opposed to others. Ethnicity forms a significant cultural identifier whose
impacts are portrayed in various levels in a global setting.
Cultural Identifier Description and Role of Social Justice
Ethnicity is the shared culture and individuals’ general way of life which is afterwards
reflected in languages, religions and materialistic cultural forms including but not limited to
dress codes. Ethnicity concerns have recently and in the past contributed immensely towards
educational attainment within K-12 students sharing common ethnicity concerns portraying
forms of segregation towards their peers having a different ethnic perspective (Mickelson, Bottia
& Larimore, 2020). The difference in the ethnicity concerns calls for social justice needed to
neutralize the situations and form a consensual basis necessary for ensuring education continuity
despite the differences. Social justice primarily aims at providing equal educational opportunities
